St. Louis, MO – In line with Schnuck’s long-standing history of supporting the communities it serves, the grocer has launched a new bag program that will support local hunger relief organizations and not-for-profits.
In partnership with Bags 4 My Cause, Schnucks now offers two reusable bags designed to support local hunger relief organizations and not-for-profit causes in the areas of health & wellness, education and civic. For an entire month, the sale of each of these specially designed bags generates a $1 donation. At the end of each month, the total amount raised through sale of each bag is sent directly to the benefiting cause and hunger relief organization.
Jim Brennan, COO and co-founder of Bags 4 My Cause, says this new and innovative program is based on a simple formula which supports the benefiting not-for-profits so they can drive their own success.
Every month, store team members at each Schnucks location choose a benefiting not-for-profit for the Giving bag, and a hunger relief organization for the Hunger bag.
Thirty days prior to the beginning of the benefiting cause’s month, the Bags 4 My Cause marketing team reaches out to each seleted nonprofit and hunger relief organization to let them know they have been chosen to participate in the program. Each benefiting cause is offered an online marketing toolkit designed to make outreach easier. Outreach allows more community members to learn about the program, which motivates the community to visit their local store to buy the bags in support of their local causes.
Founded in north St. Louis in 1939, the family-owned grocery company has grown to include 100 stores in five states: Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa. For more information on the Schnucks – Bags 4 My Cause program, visit schnucks.bags4mycause.com.
